About Me
Hello! I'm Lisa, a proud Mom of three teenagers, in middle school, high school, and college. My kids have always been my inspiration and are the reason I started ZOCKA Scholars.
I want every student who dreams of going to college to have the opportunity to make it happen. I’ve learned a lot through this college journey with my daughter, and now I want to share what I’ve learned to empower students to reach their educational goals.
More than that, I want students to be able to afford college through local and less competitive scholarships, so they can avoid graduating from college with student loan debt. That is something I know too well.
That’s what drives me. Every student deserves a chance, and I'm committed to getting them there, debt-free!
My Background
I have a heart for serving and uplifting my community. Throughout my career in marketing communications, I’ve focused
on work that drives equity in health, education, and economic empowerment. More than half of my professional experience
has been rooted in the nonprofit world, leading mission-led initiatives and campaigns.
I actively volunteer in my community, including public schools, outreach programs, mentoring and providing professional development services. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Business from Hood College and received my Master of Science from
Johns Hopkins University.
